Somnium Space VR is a premium VR social world disguised as a free-to-play game. The developers have a good idea, but the game still needs a lot of improvements such as lag and non-optimizations. Somnium Space promises to be the biggest thing in VR (think the oasis in Ready Player One), with cutting-edge technology (immortality) and foresight. I've been waiting for VR to become a reality, and now that Somnium Space is here, I feel like we're entering an exciting new era of social. Yes, there are other great social VR experiences out there, but I don't think they have the potential of Somnium Space. What's not to like, concerts, bowling, climbing on floating islands, just to name a few of the experiences on offer. For me, however, the best thing about Somnium Space is its enthusiastic community of users. I was blown away. So much so that I went and bought myself a piece of land to be my own. This place is like a living, breathing world. It looks stunning, with day-night cycles, beautiful lighting and great potential. The discordant community is also very friendly. It's still early days, but updates are regular and I'm excited to see where it's headed.

Somnium advertises itself as a free platform, but once you join, it quickly becomes clear that the lack of ETH means you can't enjoy many of the key features Somnium offers.

Due to a lack of proper development, every time Somnium added a new feature, it had the secondary effect of breaking many other features, which in itself became very serious.
