Bitget launches Stock+ US stock margin trading service, initially supporting 3800+ margin trading targets and 2300+ short selling targets.
According to an official announcement from Bitget, the platform has officially launched its Stock+ US stock margin trading service. Users only need to open a Bitget Stock+ account to use this feature. Initially, it supports margin trading on over 3,800 stocks and short selling on over 2,300 stocks (currently only short selling ETB is supported), with a maximum leverage of 3x. The annual interest rate for margin trading is 5%; during promotional periods, the annual interest rate for short selling is as low as 0%. This product launch further enriches Stock+'s US stock trading scenarios. Users can use margin trading to borrow funds to buy securities using securities or assets in their account as collateral; they can also use short selling to borrow securities to sell, and then buy them back to repay the loan after the stock price falls, thus meeting the needs of both long and short trading and improving capital efficiency.
OpenAI employees blame product release pressure for security incident: AI agent escaped the test environment and attacked Hugging Face.
According to BlockBeats, on August 15, several current and former OpenAI employees stated that the company has faced intense competition and pressure to release products rapidly in recent years, making it difficult for the team to allocate sufficient resources to prioritize AI safety, security testing, and model alignment.
Employees say the AI agent "jailbreak" incident earlier this year was related to the company's culture of rapidly launching new models and products. A former OpenAI employee described the incident as "the biggest security incident in OpenAI's history."
In May of this year, OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol and an unreleased model were found to have exploited an unknown software vulnerability to breach a restricted internet testing environment and subsequently attacked the open-source AI platform Hugging Face to obtain answers to cybersecurity tests. OpenAI confirmed in July that the model had indeed participated in the incident and recently presented a more detailed analysis at the Black Hat conference.
OpenAI President Greg Brockman stated that as model capabilities improve, the company is strengthening its training, alignment, security testing, deployment processes, and governance mechanisms.
However, the issue of security culture had previously been warned about by insiders. Jan Leike, former head of alignment at OpenAI, who left in 2024 to join Anthropic, said that the company's security culture and processes were giving way to "more eye-catching products."
Boaz Barak, co-head of OpenAI's security advisory group, said that resolving this incident requires not only fixing the technical issues but also changing the company culture.
This controversy comes at a time when OpenAI is undergoing ongoing management changes. In recent months, several senior executives and security leaders have left the company, including those responsible for product, science, security, and AI ethics. The company had also previously merged its security and core research teams, leading some employees to worry that security priorities have been further diminished.
With the rapid improvement of GPT series models and AI agent capabilities, how OpenAI balances product competition, commercialization speed and AI security governance is becoming a focus of industry attention.
Swissquote's client assets reached a record high of $118.4 billion, while its crypto revenue declined by 66.2% in the first half of the year.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Swissquote, the Swiss online banking group, saw its client assets rise 19.8% year-on-year to a record high of $118.4 billion in the first half of 2026; net income increased by 1.7% to $447 million, with pre-tax profit of approximately $225 million. During the same period, net income from crypto assets declined 66.2% year-on-year to nearly $18 million, including a $6.5 million valuation loss based on market capitalization from digital assets held for providing liquidity to its proprietary crypto trading platform, SQX. Swissquote lowered its full-year 2026 net income target from $934 million to $897 million and its pre-tax profit forecast from $473 million to approximately $449 million; its 2028 pre-tax profit target of approximately $615 million remains unchanged. Several new evaluation metrics have been added, and the STRC, STRD, STRK, and STRF dashboards have been upgraded.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Michael Saylor stated in an article on the X platform that the STRC, STRD, STRK, and STRF dashboards have been upgraded, adding indicators such as BTC rating, BTC floor price, annualized recurring income at BTC floor price, tax-equivalent effective return, and 1-year Sharpe ratio. The new tools can be used to assess yield, credit quality, downside protection, and risk-adjusted returns.
CryptoQuant Analyst: Binance XRP whale trading cools down, selling pressure eases, but a rebound still needs new demand.
According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, on the X platform, XRP whale inflows on Binance have recently declined significantly, reaching their lowest level since 2021 based on a 3-month average. Data shows that current XRP whale inflows into Binance are approximately $61 million, a substantial decrease from previous levels. In comparison, this figure reached $456 million in January 2025 and $355 million in October 2025, representing a current level that is approximately 6 to 8 times lower. While XRP is currently struggling to hold the key $1 price level, the inflow of whale funds, which previously favored large transactions through Binance, is decreasing. However, net XRP inflows remain positive at approximately $18.8 million, indicating that inflows still temporarily dominate. Darkfost points out that this trend is similar to the overall crypto market, with a decline in trading volume and fund inflows, potentially reflecting easing selling pressure, but new market demand has not yet significantly recovered. The cooling of whale trading activity is a positive sign for XRP, but it is still not enough to confirm that the market has reversed, and it is too early to judge that XRP has started a new round of upward trend.
