Pi Network was born on March 14, 2019 (International Pi Day). Pi is a new type of inclusive digital currency. It was developed by two PhDs who graduated from Stanford University and their team after 6 years of research and development. The open network was officially launched on February 20, 2025.
Its most distinctive feature is the innovative use of the smartphone &ldquo;mining&rdquo; model, which allows ordinary people to participate in this digital currency feast without having to invest in high hardware costs and professional knowledge.
With this low-threshold model and social fission strategy, it has attracted more than 60 million members from more than 230 countries and regions around the world, of which more than 19 million members have completed KYC verification, and more than 10 million pioneers have migrated to the Pi Network mainnet.
