This transfer was not completed through a closed private ledger; USBDC circulates on the open network and remains connected to US Bank's existing systems. US Bank CEO Gunjan Kedia stated that the pilot demonstrates the bank's ability to accelerate global cash management and fund transfers. US Bank disclosed that its digital asset platform can assess stablecoin minting, payment redemption, freezing, and rollback functions. Funds will be automatically converted into Mexican pesos via SPEI within seconds and deposited into bank accounts, without going through an exchange.
