According to Beating AI News, GLM-5.3 Flash has just been officially open-sourced, and Zhipu is offering a 50% discount on its API for a limited time, lasting for two weeks. After the discount, each million tokens costs $0.075 for input and $0.25 for output, with cached input costing only $0.015.

This price is an order of magnitude lower than Zhipu's own GLM-5.2. GLM-5.2 costs $1.40 for input and $4.40 for output per million tokens. After discounts, the input and output prices of GLM-5.3-Flash are only about one-eighteenth of the former.

The 50% discount will be available not only through Z.ai's official API but also on third-party model aggregation platforms. After two weeks, the price will revert to $0.15 for input, $0.50 for output, and $0.03 for cached input.

According to BlockBeats, on August 26th, asset management firm 21Shares reported that Solana is advancing two proposals, SIMD-550 and SIMD-553, aiming to reshape the token economy by accelerating inflation reduction and increasing SOL burning. If passed, the two proposals are expected to reduce the issuance of SOL by approximately $1.4 billion to $1.5 billion over six years.

SIMD-550 proposes to increase the annual inflation decline rate of Solana from 15% to 30%, shortening the time to reach the network's final inflation rate of 1.5% from approximately 5.7 years to 2.8 years, or earlier than the first half of 2032, to the first half of 2029. According to the proposal, the nominal collateralized yield is projected to decrease from the current approximately 5.25% to 4.34% in the first year, 3% in the second year, and 2.25% in the third year.

SIMD-553 charges a burning fee for the computing units applied for in financial activities. Based on the current level of network activity, the daily SOL burning is expected to increase from about 600 to 800 to 7,500 to 9,000, worth about $712,500 to $855,000, but this is still insufficient to offset the current daily inflationary issuance of about $4.5 million.

The decline in staking yields will also directly reduce validator income. The design of validator voting fees for SIMD-553 has not yet been finalized, and related costs could rise to as high as 21 times the current level.
