According to market sources, Colombian and U.S. law enforcement agencies have jointly dismantled a transnational cryptocurrency money laundering network linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Mexico. Since 2023, the network has transferred over $190 million in illicit funds through cryptocurrency channels. Multiple cryptocurrency wallets and cash were seized during the operation. Investigations revealed that the network frequently used methods such as fund splitting, multi-wallet transfers, cross-jurisdictional transfers, and token swaps to evade tracking. Authorities have not yet disclosed specific details regarding the currencies involved, trading platforms, or the number of arrests. The investigation is ongoing.

According to Huoxun Finance, the Singapore Police Force's Anti-Scam Centre and Cyber Investigation Department, in conjunction with cryptocurrency platforms such as Coinbase, Coinhako, StraitsX, and Upbit, conducted a month-long special enforcement operation from March 16 to April 15 this year, successfully intercepting over S$2.86 million in fraudulent funds. During the operation, authorities utilized analytics tools from blockchain intelligence companies TRM Labs and Chainalysis to identify victims involved in various types of cases, including impersonation of government officials, investment scams, job scams, and online romance scams, and conducted over 90 direct interventions via telephone and in-person meetings. The police stated that the success of this operation was due to a rapid information-sharing mechanism between law enforcement agencies and private platforms, and emphasized that they will continue to deepen public-private partnerships to address the increasingly sophisticated threat of cryptocurrency scams.
