Actually explored this with BSC twice. They have amazing reach and marketing, but just forked tech. We have shitty reach and marketing, but great tech. It seemed the easiest win. But at the time would have meant $2bn worth of BNB swap for S, which was decided to not pursue. Which is fair, but of all the teams, they were most willing to explore and receptive. So respect for them. Ethereum I hope adopts at least Carmen DB, 98% storage reduction for validators and 810% increase read write is just a pure win and silly not to do. 0 downsides.
