BIP-110 author Dathon Ohm stated that the community is currently developing proposals to modify the Bitcoin proof-of-work algorithm and plans to "get miners out," while also accusing large mining pools of collectively opposing the BIP-110 initiative. Regarding the question of how the network will remain secure after existing miners leave, Dathon Ohm responded, "We will hire new miners."

According to Bitcoin News, a Bitcoin transaction is currently contributing 9.99 million satoshis, worth $6,514, to the next candidate BIP-110 block in transaction fees. This transaction only sent 1,000 satoshis, worth $0.65, but paid 9.999 million satoshis in fees, a fee rate of 90,081 satoshis/vB. This transaction accounts for approximately 35% of the total available transaction fees for the current block, which is 0.29 BTC, worth $18,573. Furthermore, this transaction has RBF enabled and may be replaced before confirmation.
