According to BlockBeats, on September 7th, Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, purchased 28,589 shares of Robinhood (HOOD) on September 4th through her ARK Innovation ETF. Based on the closing price of $122.11 that day, the purchase was worth approximately $3.5 million. This marks Wood's recent increase in Robinhood holdings after reducing her stake; she had previously sold 25,009 shares on August 26th.
Robinhood's stock price has surged over 30% in the past month, while Bitcoin has risen approximately 23% to near $80,000 during the same period. On September 4th, Deutsche Bank raised its target price for Robinhood from $115 to $136 and maintained its "buy" rating, citing significantly better-than-expected growth in Robinhood Chain fee revenue. Data shows that the chain's daily revenue was still below $200,000 in mid-August, but rose to $3.38 million and $4.01 million on September 1st and 2nd respectively. Deutsche Bank expects its annualized revenue run rate to exceed $100 million.
As of September 4, Robinhood had become the seventh largest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF, accounting for 4.28% of the fund's weight. In addition, Wood recently purchased Veracyte, Intellia Therapeutics, and the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF, while reducing its holdings in Tempus AI and Twist Bioscience.
According to BlockBeats, on September 7th, Galaxy Research stated that the third wave of attackers targeting the Coldcard hardware wallet recently transferred 97.09 BTC, worth approximately $7.7 million at current prices, representing about 45% of the Bitcoin stolen in this wave.
On September 2nd, the attackers transferred approximately 20.5 BTC to Ethereum via THORChain; subsequently, they transferred some funds into the CoinJoin mixing process to increase the difficulty of tracing the funds. Currently, 11 of the 293 2-of-2 multisignature addresses established by the attackers in the third wave of attacks have been emptied.
The report states that the Coldcard security incident stemmed from a firmware vulnerability introduced in 2021, which significantly reduced the randomness of wallet mnemonic phrase generation, allowing attackers to potentially reconstruct private keys offline and steal funds. As of now, approximately 82% of the stolen BTC from the entire Coldcard attack has not been transferred. Galaxy Research estimates that if newly discovered suspected victim addresses are included, the total amount of stolen BTC could reach approximately 1,806,000, worth about $144 million.
