According to Huoxun Finance, XRP Ledger developers have submitted a draft amendment to "AMM Swappable Curves," proposing to introduce three switchable curve types for XRPL's native automated market maker: constant product, centralized liquidity, and StableSwap. A programmable Smart AMM will also be added later, allowing liquidity providers to select the appropriate pricing curve based on asset type to improve capital efficiency. Existing AMM pools will continue using the current constant product model without migration. Centralized liquidity will be adapted for trading pairs concentrated within a specific price range, while StableSwap will be adapted for near 1:1 exchange assets such as stablecoins. This proposal is an important step for XRPL to address its shortcomings in DeFi infrastructure. Currently, there are over $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets on the XRPL chain, including the tokenized US Treasury bond redemption pilot completed by Ripple and JPMorgan Chase. However, efficient trading, lending, or yield generation of such assets still requires a more mature DeFi liquidity infrastructure. The proposal is currently in the draft stage and needs to go through the XRPL amendment voting process, which may take several months. Its final approval remains uncertain.
