Odaily Planet Daily reports that Humility Protocol released a security incident update on the X platform, indicating that its H token suffered a coordinated attack on the Ethereum and BSC chains yesterday, with over $36 million in assets confirmed to have been stolen and sold off. Preliminary investigations show that the incident stemmed from a compromised employee's computer, leading to the leakage of the multi-signature wallet keys controlling the Hyperlane Bridge ProxyAdmin. Specifically, the attacker obtained the private keys of three out of six holders of the Gnosis Safe wallet on the Ethereum chain, transferred ownership of ProxyAdmin to a wallet under their control, and escalated the bridge contract to a malicious implementation. They then transferred approximately 141.2 million H tokens in a single transaction. Simultaneously, the attacker also gained control of the private keys of three out of five holders of the Safe wallet on the BSC chain, taking over ProxyAdmin in the same manner and deploying a malicious contract with unlimited issuance capabilities, issuing 200 million H tokens into their own wallet in two separate transactions. Humility stated that it has suspended all deposit and withdrawal operations for the affected bridging services and is working with exchanges and other relevant partners to minimize losses. It is also cooperating with the police investigation and attempting to recover some of the stolen funds.

According to Odaily Planet Daily, on-chain analyst Yu Jin's monitoring shows that the "private key leak" has allowed the issuance and sale of H to continue for 13 hours, with the so-called "hacker" still able to issue and sell H on the BSC chain. Currently, the "hacker" has issued 300 million H and sold approximately 450 million, cashing out $34 million (ETH+BNB). The H pool on BSC has been reduced to only $13 in liquidity, and the price of H has plummeted by 99.9% to $0.0009. Meanwhile, the perpetual contract price on the CEX is $0.09, a 100-fold difference. Essentially, they have become two unrelated coins.
