Nvidia's earnings report triggered a wave of upward revisions to target prices, with some institutions proclaiming a target valuation of $10 trillion.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Nvidia's latest earnings report and guidance exceeded expectations, boosting bullish sentiment on Wall Street. More than ten major banks, including Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and Mizuho, have raised their target prices. At least 13 institutions raised their target prices for Nvidia, with Raymond J. Financial Group raising its target price from $352 to $515, the highest target price to date; Melius Research raised it from $400 to $420; Bernstein raised it from $315 to $400; and Rosenblatt Securities raised it from $325 to $390. Based on Nvidia's 24.1 billion shares, a target price of $515 corresponds to a market capitalization of approximately $12.4 trillion. Nvidia's latest earnings report exceeded expectations across the board: Q2 fiscal year 2027 revenue was $96.2 billion, a year-over-year increase of 106%; adjusted earnings per share were $2.22, a year-over-year increase of 120%; and data center revenue was $89 billion. The company expects its third-quarter revenue to be at a median of $108 billion and projects revenue growth of approximately 70% for fiscal year 2028, significantly higher than the market's previous expectation of approximately 45%. Analysis: With initial jobless claims declining in the US, the Federal Reserve may be able to continue focusing on inflation.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that initial jobless claims in the U.S. fell last week, indicating that the U.S. labor market remains stable despite an unexpected drop in employment in July. The U.S. Labor Department said Thursday that seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims fell by 4,000 to 203,000 in the week ending August 22, compared with economists' expectations of 208,000. Initial claims are currently at the lower end of the year's range of 189,000 to 230,000, suggesting that even with weak hiring activity, layoffs remain low. The U.S. unemployment rate fell slightly again last month to 4.1%, a historically low level. If the labor market continues to remain stable, the Federal Reserve may be able to continue focusing on controlling inflation. U.S. inflation has been above the Fed's 2% target for 65 consecutive months. Data shows that continuing jobless claims fell by 18,000 to 1.778 million, an indicator that can be used as a reference for hiring.
Hyperliquid's perpetual contracts cover more than 80 traditional commodity and stock markets, with a notional trading volume exceeding $500 billion.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Hyperliquid Policy Center published an article on its X platform stating that perpetual contracts should be at the core of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) innovation agenda. The agency submitted a statement regarding the first meeting of the CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee on August 20th, noting that perpetual contracts are gradually expanding beyond digital asset markets to traditional asset classes such as stocks and commodities, and that demand for this product from US market participants is rising. Perpetual contracts can meet the risk management needs of different market participants, and are particularly suitable for airlines hedging fuel costs, investment funds managing portfolio exposures, and AI developers addressing persistent, undefined expiration date risks such as computing power costs. Compared to futures with fixed expiration dates, perpetual contracts do not require rolling over to the next month, and there are no expiration or delivery issues; the contract price is anchored to the underlying asset through periodic funding rates. Currently, on Hyperliquid, perpetual contracts deployed by third-party developers cover more than 80 traditional commodity and stock markets, with a cumulative notional trading volume exceeding $500 billion. The CFTC has taken several measures this year to promote the development of the perpetual contract market in the United States. In May, the CFTC approved the first perpetual futures contract listed in the United States and issued a policy statement and guidance on continuous trading regarding the listing of perpetual contracts. Alphabet's market capitalization has evaporated by nearly $700 billion from its peak, as its AI advantages are questioned.

Since hitting a record high in May, its market capitalization has shrunk by approximately $692 billion, as market concerns about its AI competitiveness continue to intensify. The company's stock price rose more than 150% in the previous 12 months as of May 13, briefly ranking among the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500 during that period, significantly outperforming the other "Big Seven" tech companies. However, as the market reassessed Google's AI leadership, Alphabet's upward momentum began to reverse.
