Base, BNB Ranked Top: 11 Largest Blockchains by New Wallet Addresses
There are several ways to filter the performance or dominance of various blockchains. Today, CryptoRank.io shared metrics that ranked top blockchains in terms of new wallet addresses created in respective platforms over the past seven days.
Top 11 blockchains by new wallet addresses
Base
As per data, Base, the L2 blockchain network powered by Coinbase exchange, emerged as the top-performing blockchain, showcasing its dominance in the landscape. Over the past seven days, Base drew in 2.8 million new wallets that made their first transactions on the platform.
BNB
The second best-performing blockchain is BNB, which added 2 million wallet addresses over the last seven days. This massive record has been triggered by expanded user activity on the BNB Chain due to new DeFi platforms launching on the network. More users have been signing up for BNB wallets to engage with DApps in the ecosystem.
Ethereum
Next is Ethereum, which attracted 752,000 new wallet addresses over the said period. This rise shows impressive interest in the Ethereum ecosystem despite current price decreases. ETH price has been under pressure, currently standing at $2,301 after seeing a decline of 15.4% over the past seven days. Despite this slump, the surge in wallet creation has been bolstered by increased adoption of DeFi platforms on the Ethereum blockchain and rising interest in Ethereum staking apps.
Polygon
Polygon is the fourth best-performing blockchain, after pulling in 562,000 new wallet addresses over the past seven days. This figure shows that more users are enrolling to use Polygon wallets. The cause of this rise is due to the increased adoption of DApps developed on Polygon.
Arbitrum
Arbitrum took position five with newly created addresses on the platform reaching 460,000 over the stated duration. This rise has been pushed by the inflow of new users interacting with the platform’s NFTs and DeFi features. The platform has a name as a prominent Layer2 solution, allowing users to execute cheaper and faster transactions while interacting with apps on Ethereum.
Others
Other major chains that made it to this list include Optimism, Sei, Celo, Sonic, Ronin, and Avalanche.
According to the metrics, Optimism secured the sixth position after registering 313,700 new wallet addresses over the past seven days. It was followed by SEI, which attracted 251,000 new wallet addresses.
Number eight is Celo with 127,900 new wallet addresses. Coming at number nine is Sonic with 105,300 new wallet addresses created on the platform over the past seven days. Lastly, Ronin and Avalanche wrapped the list with 91,730 and 88,730 new wallet addresses respectively.
