Ethereum Leads Developer Activity, While Cosmos and Avalanche Gain Momentum
Ethereum maintains blockchain development leadership with its 183.8K recorded development activity events. During the measured period the ecosystem experienced a minimal increase of 0.89% in its development events. The number of contributors fell by 2.54% throughout the period resulting in 1.7K developers.
The development metrics of BNB Chain showed 75.6K events but faced a significant 9.45% reduction over the period. The number of ecosystem contributors slightly rose by 0.78% to establish 904 contributors. Developer activity at Polygon fell by 10.35% when the platform registered 72.5K events. The number of contributors participating in the project reached 704 developers through a 0.86% growth increase.
Shifting Activity Among Mid-Ranked Ecosystems
Arbitrum and Optimism, both Ethereum Layer 2 networks, recorded declines in development events. The development events of Arbitrum declined by 7.62% to reach 63.1K activities and Optimism experienced 6.82% less with 58.6K events. The two ecosystems faced varying growth patterns between their development contributors as they expanded their contributor bases by 3.03% and 0.39% respectively.
Avalanche experienced a massive 12.08% drop in its development activity total which reached 48.7K events. The number of contributors associated with this platform expanded by 4.49% to reach 442 developers. The Cosmos project became number one in simultaneous growth between development activity and market positioning among the top 10 blockchain projects. Avalanche registered a 1.33% rise in development events at 46.1K although its contributor base decreased by 5.45% to 416.
Declines Continue Across Lower-Ranked Projects
The development activity of Solana , Harmony, and Polkadot went through significant declines. The Solana network witnessed a decrease of 7.6% in development events reaching 42.9K while its participant base increased by 2.63% to 429 developers. Harmony suffered its largest drop of 13.19% as its development activity dropped to 42.7K. The number of contributors contributing to this project decreased by 2.62% while their total membership stood at 371 individuals.
Polkadot finished as the tenth-ranked project with 34K developer events, dropping by 8.04 %. The platform lost 0.91% of its contributors who now number at 325. Despite the observed activity declines, these platforms maintain their high position within the blockchain ecosystem through persistent development activities.
