OKX , a renowned blockchain technology and global crypto trading platform, is excited to announce its strategic landmark partnership with BitGo, an Off-Exchange Settlement (OES) that brings automated settlement infrastructure to institutional clients trading on OKX in the United States.  The basic objective behind this integration is to allow secured institutional trading on OKX under BitGo’s regulated cold custody framework.

BitGo has a significant reputation in the crypto industry for securing assets in a very systematic manner. Because BitGo has been performing the duty of securing assets since 2013, it is very famous, and users have a strong confidence in terms of the security of their assets. This alliance reduces pre-funding requirements around venues and increases capital efficiency.

BitGo and OKX Bridge Custody and Trading with OES Integration

Assets stayed in BitGo ’s regulated custody, controlled up to $250M in insurance. There are multiple steps that are covered under this single institutional framework, such as the process that starts from custody to execution to settlement and operation. Approaching exchange liquidity has historically required institutions to shift assets onto a venue, moving capital away from systematic custody.

BitGo OES connection to OKX eradicates those hurdles, enabling institutions to retain their existing custody arrangements while providing OKX’s full liquidity and trading infrastructure. OKX has already made institutional infrastructure a vital part of its U.S. platform, offering in-house custody solutions and integrations with third-party facilitators.

Advancing Institutional Trust with Secure Custody Solutions

The integration of OKX and BitGo is actively aligning its systems with the hopes of institutional risk teams, compliance workers, and maintainers. Liquidity is shifting toward venues that can fulfill institutional standards, and this partnership re-boosts OKX’s position as an institutional firm.

Star Xu, OKX Founder and CEO, said, “Safeguarding customer assets isn’t just a priority; it’s foundational to everything we build. Over the years, we’ve invested significantly in developing a high-standard, in-house custody infrastructure that has been tested and proven at scale. At the same time, we’ve expanded our custody partnerships with trusted leaders like BitGo to give clients greater flexibility and choice in how they secure their assets.”

“Capabilities such as off-exchange settlement are an important step forward for the industry, reducing counterparty risk while enabling more efficient capital deployment. Combining robust internal systems with best-in-class external partners is key to strengthening trust and accelerating institutional adoption.”
