Bitfinex Securities has opened a $50 million tokenized capital raise for Alkemya Metacore, a Luxembourg-based platform developing financial and industrial uses for high-purity nickel wire. The offering announced on August 27 precedes a planned listing of the ALKN security for eligible investors.
ALKN links financing to an industrial metal
The product is connected to a Luxembourg platform built around a stockpile valued at $1.6 billion and comprising approximately seven million meters of nickel wire. The material is held in custody in Switzerland and is used in sectors including semiconductors, aerospace, defense and industrial systems.
Bitfinex Securities said the blockchain structure is designed to turn an asset normally held inside industrial supply chains into a tradable financing instrument. That approach follows broader growth in tokenized securities, including the expansion of Ondo’s tokenized-equities platform beyond $1 billion .
The raise will fund Alkemya’s operating business
Proceeds are intended to support development and commercialization of engineered nickel products through Green Transitional Metals, Alkemya’s operating subsidiary. Planned applications include electromagnetic-interference shielding, green hydrogen systems and recovery of rare and precious metals.
ALKN is available for primary subscription to eligible investors until October 15. Bitfinex Securities described it as the first tokenized commodity offering made available under El Salvador’s digital-asset regulatory framework, although the planned secondary listing remains subject to the platform’s admission process.
Liquidity and asset claims require scrutiny
Tokenization can change how an investment is issued and transferred, but it does not by itself guarantee liquidity or remove commodity, custody and issuer risk. Investors must still assess the legal claim represented by the token, redemption mechanics and the market for the underlying industrial product.
The launch adds another structure to the market for onchain financial products, which already includes lending platforms combining DeFi with tokenized stocks and dedicated credit markets . Bitfinex Securities has not disclosed expected secondary-market volume for ALKN, so demand after the subscription period remains uncertain. The offering’s eligibility restrictions also mean access will depend on investor status and jurisdiction rather than being available to every Bitfinex user. No minimum secondary-market liquidity commitment was announced, and no market maker was identified yet.
