To me it’s the same. There’s counterparty risk at every leg. Wire $ to exchange A Move BTC to exchange B That’s already two counterparites, three if you count your bank. And there is price exposure while moving BTC to arb. My point is there will be investors that are fine with duration risk. If you’re not just HODLing, everything is risk.

You’re referring to that Substack hit piece? Feels reminiscent of Citron Research playbook to manipulate markets (founder sued for that) but worse with only vague insinuations and little real substance. “Look at this could be bad. Oh and this and this. And somehow it’s bad for that.” There was no cloud mining, just real mining with our own PPAs and equipment. While I was at Blockstream I personally handled one order for $50 million in hardware. Even if you don’t believe that, any serious investigator would look into the mining pool shares coming from Blockstream. You can’t fake proof of work, only willfully ignore it to push a narrative.

It’s a PvP game. We think normal plebs should buy and hold it, but the reality is the treasury co’s want it too. What our opinion is of the correct distribution and composition of the HODLer base is largely irrelevant. That said, obviously I agree with you or I wouldn’t be building @AquaBitcoin to get Bitcoin to ordinary people. We all can only do what we can do.
